Take out

Take out

Find your first Google+ post (and get an archive of all your posts) using Google Takeout

Brian Slesinsky has posted a neat trick for finding that first post you posted here on Google+ and creating a backup archive of your posts:
https://plus.google.com/+BrianSlesinsky/posts/6AXRHih9FFL

Here are the instructions:

1. Go to https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout

2. Optional: to switch to a Google+ Page click your profile photo at top right, and select the Google+ Page's Brand Account from the list. Once you have switched you will see the Page's Profile image at top right.

3. Deselect everything in the Takeout list except Google+ Stream

4. Download as a zip file.

(Creating the archive may take a while if you have a lot of posts)

5. Unzip.

6. Open Takeout folder
7. Open Google+ Stream folder
8. There will be one HTML file per post. Sort by date modified.

Notes:

* The earliest modified file should be your first post.

* The file should open in your browser. Click the Permalink link to open the post on Google+.

* the archive does not include photos or images you posted to Google+. You can create a separate archive of your photos in Google Takeout > Google Photos (Google+ uploads appear to be in date albums)

* you may see a Google+ Pages archive option. This only archives the Circles of your Google+ Pages, not the posts.

* My stream archive was 6521(!) post files and about 25MB.

My first post:
https://plus.google.com/+PeggyKTC/posts/A9g93DHfvpC

It was posted October 1, 2012, with a link to an April 2012 YouTube Announcement. It has one sad +1 and no comments.

AN INTERESTING PIECE OF WWII HISTORY

Originally shared by Will James

AN INTERESTING PIECE OF WWII HISTORY

Starting in 1941, an increasing number of British Airmen found themselves as the involuntary guests of the Third Reich and the Crown was casting about for ways and means to facilitate their escape.

Now obviously, one of the most helpful aids to that end is a useful and accurate map , one showing not only where stuff was, but also showing the locations of 'safe houses' where a POW on-the-lam could go for food and shelter.... Show More

Kaibab Squirrel

For 40 years I searched for the illusive Kaibab Squirrels!! I found this pair folickling in the Kaibab Forest on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Millions of years ago, these were Abert's squirrels. As the Colorado River formed the Grand Canyon and the Kaibab Plateau rose, these guys become isolated with desert on 3 sides and the canyon on the south. They evolved into their own sub-species known as the Kaibab Squirrel. It's called isolated evolution. They are distinctive and noted for their fluffy white tails which blend in with the snow on the North Rim.

What have you searched for? Has it taken you as long as it took me?

There's a link to the copy codes in the wow community. It's under the "about section on the main page.
Every month I bookmark the copy codes and then when I post a picture I'll do a cut&paste for the appropriate week.
That was one very tasty picture you posted. You can probably edit the post to add the mods names via the copy codes rather than have to repost from scratch.

ROUND 22 LIVE THE LIGHT SCAVENGER HUNT IMAGES

Hi Lauri

Hi Lauri
I'd love to take you up on your kind offer. I just got home and would need a couple or three hours to get them together. All shots are in the can but none processed yet. So - yes or no - I'm good either way. Sorry again to be a bother.

PHOTOGRAPHY THEMES!

PHOTOGRAPHY THEMES!

Long ago and far away there used to be decent activity on the photo themes around this place. Things change, people come and go and engagement started waning.

The amazing Heidi Anne Morris has created a community as a way to breathe some life back into these photography themes.

Check it out - are there themes you participate in that are not represented, let her know so they can be added. This will be a great way to keep track of themes and hopefully get some of us back to posting regularly to more than just a scant one or two (I'm totally guilty of this).

Thanks Heidi Anne Morris for all you do around this place!

DAMMIT ! WHat The hell happened ???

DAMMIT ! WHat The hell happened ???

Originally shared by dPHender son

So... I'm subscribed to about thirty billion author newsletters, and one of them (Farah Cook) today shared a poem by Neil Gaiman that I'd like to pass along...

This is everything I have to tell you about love: nothing.
This is everything I've learned about marriage: nothing.

Only that the world out there is complicated,
and there are beasts in the night, and delight and pain,
and the only thing that makes it okay, sometimes,
is to reach out a hand in the darkness and find another hand to squeeze,
and not to be alone.

It's not the kisses, or never just the kisses: it's what they mean.
Somebody's got your back.
Somebody knows your worst self and somehow doesn't want to rescue you
or send for the army to rescue them.

It's not two broken halves becoming one.
It's the light from a distant lighthouse bringing you both safely home
because home is wherever you are both together.

So this is everything I have to tell you about love and marriage: nothing,
like a book without pages or a forest without trees.

Because there are things you cannot know before you experience them.
Because no study can prepare you for the joys or the trials.
Because nobody else's love, nobody else's marriage, is like yours,
and it's a road you can only learn by walking it,
a dance you cannot be taught,
a song that did not exist before you began, together, to sing.

And because in the darkness you will reach out a hand,
not knowing for certain if someone else is even there.
And your hands will meet,
and then neither of you will ever need to be alone again.

And that's all I know about love.

Aloha

Aloha
Sickness ? Bwahaha...

My best, of several theories is that you perceive things as dynamic rather than static. So you want to share that view to expand others access into the fourth dimension too. (You're an alien)
Second best: It's hard to do and you feel the need to be better at it. We all know that sometimes it's a necessary element in an image and it just sucks to need the skill but not possess it. (blur beat you up one day and now you're kicking it's blurry little butt)
It's exciting and when it clicks and especially when it clicks for the viewer it's a trigger for the endorphins and stuff in your brain. (you're an addict)

I started this with the aim to make some amusing (hopefully) remarks and say howdy. This picture demanded and deserved better though. I really am impressed with this one. I'm not trying to take anything away from a lot of your other ones but you knocked this one out of the park.

So anywho... How ya' doing - I'm fine - etc...
Love Ted
