Your attention please... we have a Special Mini Challenge announcement! On the evening of Tuesday 27 September, there will be a rare celestial event. This is the Harvest Super Total Lunar Eclipse!! The moon will be at it's closest orbit, and full, and orange, and in a Total Eclipse then! This has only happened 5 times since 1900, and the next time will be in 2033. So, get out and get some Moon shots! Take some photos of this wonderful display of celestial awesomeness and post here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKAw_wrIr5s&feature=youtu.be
With "regular" cameras you have to get the light just right and use the right apps or software to get a good SketchItSaturday shot. Of course you have to be a "regular" kind of photographer too... I just grab my SjetchItCamera (shown with optional MacroSketch Adapter) and wait for things to just smell (or sometimes) taste just right...
I'd like to suggest something for the show. Check out ryanray.com and the #WalkingAcrossAmerica thingie. It's a cool thing that has tons of people along the way feeling very connected - and He's on his way to NYC so you could probably do short bits with him online while he's on the way.
Any suggestions for a monthly theme ? My two cents - since this is National Honey Month, maybe we could share pictures of bee hives, our sweet hearts, sweet food things and such like ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojYK6CW8gdw
When shooting #streetphotography , it's always best to keep a few things in mind. > Dress to blend in. > Comfortable Shoes > Good solid shooting posture > Be aware of your surroundings (you never know who might be shooting you)
Started in GIMP, added some lightning and tried to add some more and got stuck. Started over with LunaPic but the lightning covered the whole page. Made a copy with, and one without and switched to Pixlr. Cut out the top and bottom thirds of the lightning and fiddled with the colors in the middle. I had to clone the clouds a bit where the cuts showed.
Those Dam Stairs ! I used G'MIC and a filter called "Freaky Details" on this. It froze my computer the first time around but it was interesting. (esp. zoomed in)
