Music time! I've just launched into directing an amazing musical play ("Mr Burns: A Post-Electric Play" by Marsha Washburn - based (somewhat) on The Simpsons TV show) and I need current/recent pop songs with catchy refrains or choruses on themes of "power, solidarity, fear, confusion, loss, or mourning" for a song/dance medley that's left to each director to create.

I am less on top of current pop music than I ought to be, so help me out. If you're in the area (or planning to be for the solar eclipse) and I use your suggestions, I'd be happy to comp you tickets to the show, which runs Aug 18-20/25-26, bracketing the eclipse weekend ...3 ...2 ... 1 ... GO.

I hate the new G+ search function. So I shared this to a circle of nobody and tagged you. So it should be the same as a PM.

I was so tempted to say something like:

I do love a good clean ho...

But (patting myself on the back) I refrained from saying that on your post...

*truth be known - I like a bad dirty ho now and then too... lol

Thanks.

Thanks. It was really hard to keep from shredding her replies and even harder than that not to tear into her on a more personal level.
It wouldn't have made even a tiny dent in her hard head though. And I try to behave myself on other peeps posts.
Personally, I think she could use some therapy. (or something)

The Google Page That Google Haters Don’t Want You to Know About

https://lauren.vortex.com/2017/04/20/the-google-page-that-google-haters-dont-want-you-to-know-about

There’s a page at Google that dedicated Google Haters don’t like to talk about. In fact, they’d prefer that you didn’t even know that it exists, because it seriously undermines the foundation of their hateful anti-Google fantasies.

A core principle of Google hatred is the set of false memes concerning Google and user data collection. This is frequently encapsulated in a fanciful “You are the product!” slogan, despite the fact that (unlike the dominant ISPs and many other large firms) Google never sells user data to third parties.

But the haters hate the idea that data is collected at all, despite the fact that such data is crucial for Google services to function at the quality levels that we have come to expect from Google.

I was thinking about this again today when I started hearing from users reacting to Google’s announcement of multiple user support for Google Home, who were expressing concerns about collection of more individualized voice data (without which — I would note — you couldn’t differentiate between different users).

We can stipulate that Google collects a lot of data to make all of this stuff work. But here’s the kicker that the haters don’t want you to think about — Google also gives you enormous control over that data, to a staggering degree that most Google users don’t fully realize.

The Golden Ticket gateway to this goodness is at:

google.com/myactivity

There’s a lot to explore there — be sure to click on both the three vertical dots near the upper top and on the three horizontal bars near the upper left to see the full range of options available.

This page is a portal to an incredible resource. Not only does it give you the opportunity to see in detail the data that Google has associated with you across the universe of Google products, but also the ability to delete that data (selectively or in its totality), and to determine how much of your data will be collected going forward for the various Google services.

On top of that, there are links over to other data related systems that you can control, such as Takeout for downloading your data from Google, comprehensive ad preferences settings (which you can use to adjust or even fully disable ad personalization), and an array of other goodies, all supported by excellent help pages — a lot of thought and work went into this.

I’m a pragmatist by nature. I worry about organizations that don’t give us control over the data they collect about us — like the government, like those giant ISPs and lots of other firms. And typically, these kinds of entities collect this data even though they don’t actually need it to provide the kinds of services that we want. All too often, they just do it because they can.

On the other hand, I have no problems with Google collecting the kinds of data that provide their advanced services, so long as I can choose when that data is collected, and I can inspect and delete it on demand.

The google.com/myactivity portal provides those abilities and a lot more.

This does imply taking some responsibility for managing your own data. Google gives you the tools to do so — you have nobody but yourself to blame if you refuse to avail yourself of those excellent tools.

Or to put it another way, if you want to use and benefit from 21st century technological magic, you really do need to be willing to learn at least a little bit about how to use the shiny wand that the wizard handed over to you.

Abracadabra!

Sending from phone as the laptop interface makes it hard to pm...
Yes I will get to the point soon where talking about things is on my "plan". Thanks for the offer. My phone is on my profile too. People always seem horrified when I tell them that but it's never yet been a problem.
Anyways-
The thing I was mentioning is (to me anyway) humorous in an ironic sort of way. I find humor helps me process difficult things but I know that it often makes others misunderstand me.
So here goes...
We were having a talk about the potential harmful attributes of always wanting to help. I still don't buy that it's a bad thing but I can't ignore the fact that it's a habitual thing for me and has led me to some unhealthy relationships.
But anyway - we we talking about the potential downside to always wanting to jump in and help and what was your first reaction to the conversation ?

I apologize for thinking it's funny. I mean no disrespect and yes I will want some talk time soon. But i did laugh, just a little, and felt it would be dishonest not to fess up about it.
Thanks bunches TK

Good Morning and congrats on your "bokeh" picture in the hunt.

Good Morning and congrats on your "bokeh" picture in the hunt. I hesitate to comment since I don't participate and rarely even look at the results anymore. I just have to say though that I think you "wuz robbed"..
That is just gorgeous. Aside from that, it's top notch work in all the usual ways we critique pictures and fits the category in a way I can only describe as scrumptious.
Top that off with the observation that, and I'm not kidding, I thought I smelled the salt air as soon as I saw it. I felt the hot sun on my bald spot too and almost wanted to reach a hand out to shield the lens from glare and, well - you just did it here.
I'm running our of words that express what I think and feel and see in the glorious, magical, breath taking, etc.... thing that you did. I just can't understand how it wasn't the winner ???
ok there were some other pictures in the album -
I can only remember two of them though at this point
I'll remember the one you made
See ya at the beach...

Hi

Hi
I wasn't trying to cut you off or anything like that. I was sort of shooting for playful with maybe a touch of mysterious. If I came across as rude or something, I apologize.
BTW - the fringing was probably because the image was badly overexposed and I put it through the ringer. Boosted contrast, lowered gamma, raised saturation and played with curves. I then used a bump map and added the yellow light source up in the corner to give it the split toned look. Somewhere along the way I felt it was getting a far eastern feel so I just went with the flow and let it take me along for the ride.
Your critique was sublime and the follow up intriguing.
Thanks again. Theo

I'm getting settled in at my new home. This looks like a good place to relax and reflect. I think it was good that I waited so long to get married. Maybe it was good that we didn't wait too much longer to split up.

Mrs, B

Mrs, B
Happy New Year and best wishes with the 12 shot project. Sorry to say that I'll have to take a rain check. I am going through some personal difficulties at the moment and would feel more comfortable staying involved with a more open, public venue at this point.
Perhaps later on I'll be more secure emotionally and better able to relax in a more cozy, closer setting. On the bright side of things - I'm heading back to Florida soon. I'm considering (maybe) living on a sailboat back home in WPB or perhaps buying a nice size RV and living near Lake Wales. I guess somewhere down deep I must feel that if I have to move on - I might as well really embrace the moving part of moving on.
Anyways - thanks for the invitation and y'all have fun.
